The client wanted to create a strong and recognizable brand identity inspired by traditional Ukrainian embroidery and the atmosphere of fragrant, homemade Ukrainian pastries. The main challenge was to translate cultural symbolism into a modern visual language that would feel authentic, warm, and appealing in a café environment. The brand needed to work consistently across multiple touchpoints — from the logo and signage to packaging and menus — while remaining flexible and visually cohesive.

I developed a complete brand identity system that combines traditional embroidery-inspired patterns with a contemporary design approach. The visual language was carefully crafted to evoke a sense of Ukrainian heritage, warmth, and authenticity, while remaining clean and adaptable for commercial use. A cohesive design system was applied across all branded materials, ensuring consistency and strong brand recognition at every customer interaction point.

The design process focused on building a meaningful and culturally grounded visual identity. I created a logo and brandbook that define clear rules for typography, color palette, patterns, and graphic elements inspired by Ukrainian embroidery motifs. Special attention was given to balance tradition and modernity — transforming folkloric references into a refined, scalable design system. The identity was extended to café signage, menus, cups, paper and plastic bags, and packaging boxes, maintaining visual harmony and brand integrity across all materials. Each element was designed to reinforce the brand’s story and create an emotional connection with customers through familiar cultural associations.
