Khmelnytskyi is a regional center of about 270,000 residents on the banks of the Southern Bug in the historic Podillia region. The city is one of the key trade and industrial hubs of Western Ukraine thanks to a unique combination of the 7th Kilometer wholesale market, instrument-making and food enterprises, and a powerful agricultural sector that cultivates the black soils of the Podillia Upland. Each segment has its own specifics of accounting, sales and logistics that cannot be fully covered by template boxed CRMs. That is why Khmelnytskyi companies increasingly order custom CRM, ERP and SaaS platforms built around real business processes.
I am Oleksandr Filiuk, and over 15+ years I have delivered 130+ automation projects for Ukrainian and European clients. Dozens of them are for businesses from Khmelnytskyi, Hrechany and Ruzhychna districts. In this article I explain how to choose between CRM, ERP and SaaS, which integrations are critical for the local market, and why the Next.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL and GraphQL stack has become the standard for serious projects.
CRM is the first automation system most companies implement. For small sales departments in Khmelnytskyi I often recommend ready-made platforms: Bitrix24 for the Ukrainian market with telephony and messengers, RetailCRM for eCommerce and wholesale, Pipedrive for classic B2B with deal funnels, HubSpot for marketing-oriented teams, Salesforce for large corporations with international processes. Each has its own API and customization options.
However, as the business grows, template CRMs become insufficient. Textile wholesalers of the 7th Kilometer market need fabric accounting in rolls and meters, seasonal collections, price lists by buyer segments. Podillia agri traders need grain contract accounting tied to elevators and logistics. Instrument-making enterprises need integration with production planning and engineering documentation. In such cases I build custom CRMs on Next.js + Node.js + PostgreSQL with GraphQL API that fully match real processes.
ERP is the next automation level after CRM. It is a full business operating system covering warehouse, production, procurement, finance, HR and reporting. For Khmelnytskyi manufacturers I build ERP modules: recipe and tech card management for the food industry, material and work-in-progress accounting for instrument making, batch and shelf-life management for food distributors. All modules integrate with 1C Enterprise and BAS — this is a mandatory requirement of the Ukrainian market because most accounting departments work on these platforms.
I build 1C/BAS integrations as two-way: items, stock, prices, counterparties, sales documents and payments sync in real time or on schedule. For Podillia agricultural companies I add field accounting modules with the PostGIS extension of PostgreSQL, integration with machinery GPS trackers, weather stations and satellite yield monitoring. This enables decisions about sowing, treatment and harvest based on real data rather than intuition.
SaaS is not just cloud software delivery but a separate business model with subscription, multi-tenant architecture and requirements for scaling to thousands of simultaneous clients. Residents of the Khmelnytskyi IT Cluster and KhNU and PDU graduates often come to me with SaaS product ideas for Ukrainian and European markets: project management systems for architects, booking platforms for beauty salons, analytics tools for retail, marketplaces for niche B2B segments.
For SaaS products I use multi-tenant architecture on PostgreSQL with schema-level data isolation, GraphQL API for a flexible frontend on Next.js and React, mobile clients on React Native or Flutter. Infrastructure runs on AWS Frankfurt or Google Cloud Warsaw with GDPR-compliant data storage. Payments — Stripe for international clients, LiqPay for Ukrainian. CI/CD on GitHub Actions with automatic deployment to test and production environments. Strapi serves as headless CMS in product areas needing convenient content management. Integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Bitrix24 and RetailCRM are done via official APIs.
One showcase project is an ERP for a wholesale fabric seller from the 7th Kilometer market in Khmelnytskyi. The client worked on 1C 7.7 and Excel, processed hundreds of orders per week with constant errors in stock and prices. I built a custom ERP on Node.js + PostgreSQL with modules: fabric accounting in rolls and meters, seasonal collections, price lists by buyer segments, mobile app for sales reps with offline mode, BAS integration for accounting. Launch in 5 months, payback in 9 months.
Another case is a SaaS for an agri broker working with Podillia farmers. The platform on Next.js + GraphQL manages grain contracts, logistics, financial calculations and elevator integration. Multi-tenant architecture allows onboarding new brokers in a few clicks. I work transparently and step by step. The first step is a free audit of your processes: together we analyze current systems, team pain points, loss points and automation opportunities. Next is the technical specification with architecture, stack (Next.js, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, GraphQL), integration choice (1C, BAS, Bitrix24, RetailCRM, Salesforce, Pipedrive, HubSpot, Strapi) and budget. Development runs in two-week sprints with demos at the end of each. We launch the MVP in 2-3 months, the full system in 5-12 depending on scope. After launch I provide SLA support, training of your team and iterative improvements. Ready to discuss your project — details at /services/crm-erp-saas.
